The Joy of Art

Bio & Resume:
"As a set and costume designer, I use art as a theatrical stage."

Get to Know Me

 Artist Statement

In my art, I seek to orchestrate and express raw human drama, meticulously building both scene and atmosphere. Drawing from my background as a set and costume designer, I treat my art as a vibrant theatrical stage. I am simultaneously the writer, director, designer, and actor.

My work is deeply figurative, centering on imperfect, heavy, and deliberately rounded characters. These abundant forms represent ordinary people caught in the quiet theatricality of daily life—the human body in motion, a suspended pose, a fleeting gesture.

By merging these classical materials with a bold, neo-pop sensibility, I explore a complex system of human dynamics. The interplay of tactile textures, striking lines, and rounded volumes allows me to navigate the tension between harmony and disharmony, surrender and power, rejection and desire. Infused with humor, subtle mockery, and a touch of melancholia, this vibrant theatrical exploration of life is my true "Joy of Art."

This is my “Joy of Art”.
